Rosario Dawson filmed scenes for Rob Zombie's "The Devil's Rejects" but was edited out of the final cut.
Director Gabriele Muccino cast Dawson as a young student romanced by an older professor and famed writer in a project to be based on Philip Roth's novel. The project collapsed because the leading man pulled out but years later, with a completely different set of creative elements, went into production.
Rosario Dawson was to have a role in the film, but production was pushed back and she had to drop out to shoot Alexander.
Writer director Kevin Smith said in interviews that he wrote the role of Miri specifically for Dawson, one of the stars of "Clerks II."
