McGuire was very strongly considered for this role, along with many other actreses, but did not win the part of Mrs. Anna.
McGuire was supposed to go to Norway to film this Ibsen classic in the late 1940's to use up some foreign money funds that producer David O. Selznik had. Those plans fell through and the film was not made.
Considered for one of the lead roles.
